What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and operate securely.
We also use browser storage (for example localStorage) for some preferences. Although these are not cookies, they work in a similar way for storing choices on your device. We describe them below.
Cookies Used on ONVBA.ES
1. Strictly Necessary Cookies (no consent required)
These cookies are required for the platform to work. They cannot be disabled without affecting core features such as login, security, and language selection.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sessionid | Keeps you logged in and maintains your session | Up to 14 days |
| csrftoken | Security — helps prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks | Up to 1 year |
| django_language | Remembers your selected site language (English or Spanish) | Browser session (until you close the browser), unless renewed when you change language |
Legal basis: strictly necessary for the service you request (no consent required under LSSI-CE for these cookies).
2. Browser Storage — Cookie Consent Choice
When you respond to the cookie banner, your choice is stored in localStorage (not as a cookie):
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cookieConsent | Stores whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies (analytics) | Until you clear site data in your browser |
This storage is used only to remember your cookie preference and to avoid showing the banner on every visit.
3. Third-Party Authentication (Google / Facebook)
If you choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Facebook, you are redirected to those providers. They may set their own cookies on their domains to manage authentication. After a successful login, ONVBA.ES mainly relies on the first-party cookies listed above (sessionid, csrftoken).
Their processing is governed by their privacy policies:
4. Security — Google reCAPTCHA (registration)
When you register with email and password, we use Google reCAPTCHA to protect the form against spam and abuse. Google may set cookies (for example _GRECAPTCHA) when the widget loads. These cookies are strictly necessary for that security function.
More information: Google Privacy Policy.
5. Analytics Cookies (require your consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages visited, session duration, general traffic patterns). Analytics cookies are loaded only if you click "Accept All" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Only Essential", they are not activated.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users for statistical reporting | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics | Maintains session state for analytics (GA4 property-specific) | Up to 2 years |
We enable IP anonymisation in our Google Analytics configuration. Data is used for aggregated statistics to improve the platform, not for personalised advertising on ONVBA.ES.
Google may process data as a processor under its terms. More information: Google Privacy Policy.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 22 LSSI-CE).
How to Manage Cookies and Your Consent
Cookie banner (first visit): Choose "Accept All" or "Only Essential" when the banner appears.
Change your choice later: The banner is not shown again after you decide. To change your preference, clear site data (cookies and local storage) for onvba.es in your browser, then reload the site — the banner will appear again. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; note that blocking essential cookies will prevent login and other core features from working.
